Union Station used to be a fish out of St. Louis’s water—we’re here to reestablish its sea legs.
Being at the heart of Union Station’s revival, we’ve proudly developed the cure to St. Louis’s landlocked blues: a 120,000-square-foot aquarium, packed to the gills with over 13,000 animals across 44 exhibits. Guests at our new St. Louis Aquarium can explore marine life from sea to shining sea, without venturing out of the 63103 ZIP code.
We’re reel-y excited to embark on this journey with you. Plan your visit to the St. Louis Aquarium and discover our amazing 250,000-gallon shark tank, exhibits and galleries.
The St. Louis Aquarium’s goal is to connect all people with aquatic life through transformative, immersive experiences, ultimately building a community that cares and acts to protect water and the life it sustains.
But our mission can really be summed up in three words: Education, Conservation and Imagination.
We’re dedicated to offering STEM-based programs, tools and supplementary educational resources to St. Louis’s teachers and students. Assisted by generous donors and volunteers via the St. Louis Aquarium Foundation, we’re also able to provide free field trips, programs, and transportation to the region’s most underserved communities.
By educating our communities, we’re transforming the public’s perception and understanding of Earth’s most vital resource: water. Our impactful educational programs, along with our collaborative partnerships with conservation influencers and organizations, aim to increase awareness of water conservation both at home and across the globe.
Our oceans and rivers are truly worlds of pure imagination, and we encourage our guests to dive right in. With our dynamic, interactive programs and multi-layered animal encounters, we seek to inspire children and adults alike to think creatively and view life through a vivid new lens. Because a world without imagination is a world without a future.
